The 2025 Millrose Games, set for Saturday, February 8, promises to be an exhilarating showcase of track and field talent, featuring many of the sport’s biggest stars. Celebrating its 117th iteration, this premier indoor event has a storied history, presenting memorable performances from legends like Paavo Nurmi, Carl Lewis, and Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

This year, fans can expect to see newly crowned Olympic champions and record-holders compete at the Armory in New York City. Below, we outline crucial details for spectators and viewers, including how to watch the live event and key storylines leading into the competition.

How to Watch the 2025 Millrose Games

The professional segment of the 2025 Millrose Games will air live on NBC Sports starting at 4 p.m. EST. For those looking to livestream the event, subscriptions to Peacock will provide access as well. Additionally, high school races will be live on RunnerSpace, commencing on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. EST and continuing on Saturday from 11:10 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. EST.

Races to Watch

The Wanamaker Miles

Among the highly anticipated events is the historic Wanamaker mile, which never fails to deliver thrilling performances. This year, the men’s race will feature a rematch between Josh Kerr and Yared Nuguse, following their gripping Olympic 1500-meter final last summer. In Paris, Kerr claimed silver while Nuguse took home bronze with a remarkable finish.

Both athletes have showcased impressive records at Millrose. In 2023, Nuguse won the Wanamaker mile with a time of 3:47.38, which almost broke the world record. Kerr, on the other hand, has also made his mark by shattering the world record in the 2-mile last year. Anticipating another remarkable showdown, spectators are eager to see if the athletes can produce another record-breaking performance.

The 3,000-Meter Showdowns

Both the men’s and women’s 3,000-meter races promise to be equally competitive. The men’s race will see reigning Olympic champion Cole Hocker face off against three-time U.S. champion Grant Fisher. Both athletes have previously set remarkable records, and with Hocker’s achievement in the 1500 meters and Fisher’s recent American record-breaking performance in the 2-mile at Millrose, the stakes are high for a thrilling race.

On the women’s side, Jessica Hull, who excelled in her recent training adjustments, is set to face strong competitors, including Tsigie Gebreselama and two-time world indoor medalist Axumawit Embaye. With a robust American contingent that boasts names like Katelyn Tuohy and Karissa Schweizer, the women’s 3,000 meters is expected to be a highlight of the meet.

Historical Significance of the Millrose Games

The Millrose Games have a rich history in the sport of track and field, providing a stage for athletes to achieve greatness. As one of the longest-running indoor track events, it has been instrumental in showcasing upcoming talent as well as established icons. For many athletes, Millrose serves as a crucial benchmark for setting records and bouncing back from previous competitions.

Whether you are a die-hard fans or new to the sport, the 2025 Millrose Games offers captivating moments, exhilarating races, and a chance to witness some of the most talented athletes as they enhance their legacies. For further updates, be sure to check NYRR’s official site for more information.
