Bank of America Partners as Title Sponsor of the Tallahassee Marathon

The Gulf Winds Track Club has officially announced that Bank of America will serve as the title sponsor for the upcoming Bank of America Tallahassee Marathon/Half Marathon, scheduled to take place on February 2, 2025. This long-running event is expected to see participation from approximately 2,025 runners, representing both local Florida residents and participants from across the United States.

A Rich History of the Tallahassee Marathon

Established in 1975 with just two contestants, the Tallahassee Marathon has significantly evolved over the years into a premier running event that showcases Florida’s capital city. The Marathon course takes runners on a picturesque journey starting near the Capitol. Participants will run through historic neighborhoods, scenic parks, and notable landmarks, providing a unique experience that highlights the beauty and culture of Tallahassee.

Commitment to Community and Wellness

The collaboration between Bank of America and the Gulf Winds Track Club is viewed as a major milestone for the marathon. The partnership aims to enrich the experience for both participants and spectators and further establish the marathon as an essential event for runners of all abilities. Bank of America Tallahassee President, David Hulse, articulated the company’s commitment to supporting community health and wellness initiatives, stating, “The Tallahassee Marathon/Half Marathon is a fantastic event that brings people together, promotes fitness, and showcases the vibrant culture of our city.”

Importance of Sponsorship for the Race

Jerry McDaniel, the President of the Gulf Winds Track Club, emphasized the significant impact that this partnership will have on the marathon’s quality and reach. He mentioned, “We are honored to welcome Bank of America as the title sponsor. Their support not only helps us deliver an exceptional race but also allows us to broaden our mission of promoting running as a means of fitness and enjoyment.”

Expanding Participation and Enhancing Experience

Race Director Geb Kiros highlighted the advantages of the sponsorship, noting that it will facilitate improvements in the race day experience and help attract a larger number of participants. Reflecting on the success of 2024, when runners came from 43 counties in Florida and 37 states nationwide, he stated, “This partnership will significantly contribute to our ability to grow the event and make it an even more attractive option for runners from all over.”

A Community-Driven Event

The Bank of America Tallahassee Marathon/Half Marathon embodies the dedication and passion of the local running community, as it is organized entirely by volunteers from the Gulf Winds Track Club. The strong community spirit combined with substantial corporate support exemplifies a grassroots effort aimed at promoting health, fitness, and camaraderie among participants.

Registration and Participation Opportunities

Both novice runners and seasoned athletes are encouraged to partake in this exhilarating event that blends health, fitness, and local culture.
