Kilimanjaro Premium Lager International Marathon 2025: Extended Collection Hours Announced
Kilimanjaro: The anticipation is building for the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager International Marathon 2025, as organizers have recently announced extended hours for race number and running shirt collection. This extension is set to take effect in just two weeks in Dar es Salaam, easing logistical concerns for participants.
The announcement follows the swift closure of registration, with the entry capacity for the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager 42 km and Tigo 21 km races being reached well before the official deadline of February 3, 2025. This remarkable response underscores the growing popularity of the event and showcases the enthusiasm of the running community.
To accommodate participants’ busy schedules, the organizers have increased collection hours into the evening, allowing individuals to retrieve their race materials after work. This decision aims to reduce waiting times and alleviate the last-minute rush typically seen closer to the event date. “We have extended our hours into the evening to ensure that you can collect your numbers after work and try to ensure less queuing,” the organizers stated.
Starting February 14, 2025, participants can collect their race materials at Mlimani City Mall in Dar es Salaam from 4 PM to 7 PM. Collection will continue on February 15 from 10 AM to 6 PM and February 16 from 10 AM to 6 PM. Following this, the team will move the collection to Arusha on February 18 and 19 at the Kibo Palace Hotel and will wrap up in Moshi with final collection days set for February 20 to 22 at MoCU Stadium.
In addition to the main races, the CRDB 5 km Run still has slots available for registration. Interested participants can register through Mixx by YAS by dialing *150*01#, selecting the appropriate options, or by visiting the official marathon website at www.kilimanjaromarathon.com. However, participants are reminded that registration for this race is also nearing its capacity as it is currently 60% sold out.
Participants are encouraged to adhere to the announced collection times to avoid any last-minute inconveniences. Those collecting numbers on behalf of friends or relatives are reminded to bring copies of their identity cards and consent letters, as these will be required for the collection process.
Furthermore, the organizers have issued a stern warning against the illegal sale of race numbers online. They have promised to initiate legal action against anyone caught selling numbers improperly. Moreover, individuals attempting to run with fake numbers will face disqualification from the races, nullified results, and potential bans from participating in future Kilimanjaro International Marathons.
This year’s event emphasizes a zero tolerance policy towards ambush marketing in any form. Legal action will be taken against any corporations or participants who disrespect the event’s headline sponsors, including Kilimanjaro Premium Lager, YAS, and CRDB Bank, along with other official supporters.
The Kilimanjaro Marathon is organized by the Kilimanjaro Marathon Company Limited and coordinated nationally by Executive Solutions Limited. With a lineup of prestigious sponsors, including water table sponsors like Simba Cement and TPC Sugar, this event is poised to be a remarkable gathering for runners and enthusiasts alike.
