Saudi Sports for All Federation Unveils Exciting New Initiative for 2025
The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) recently announced an exciting new initiative that will take place from February 5-8, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This initiative combines the SFA Expo and the Riyadh Marathon, effectively aligning with the SFA’s mission to promote healthier lifestyles and community engagement through physical activity. This strategic move is expected to draw significant attention, offering an engaging environment for individuals of all ages to participate in various wellness activities.
A Closer Look at the SFA Expo
The SFA Expo will take place from February 5-7, 2025, at the JAX District, providing an immersive experience that focuses on health, fitness, and wellness. Attendees will have access to interactive zones dedicated to various aspects of physical activity, including children’s sports, fitness technologies, healthy eating options, and inspiring athlete success stories. A specific marathon zone will also be established to facilitate race kit distribution and pre-race activities. The inaugural SFA Expo attracted over 12,000 visitors, featured 58 exhibitors, and included participation from 13 Saudi federations and 60 speakers, indicating a substantial interest in sporting events in the region.
Riyadh Marathon: A Premier Event
On February 8, 2025, the Riyadh Marathon will take center stage, featuring four distinct race categories: a 42 km full marathon, a 21 km half marathon, a 10 km race, and a 4 km family run. Each route will showcase the scenic landmarks of Riyadh, turning the marathon into more than just a race but a unique experience celebrating the city’s culture and community. The previous marathon saw participation from over 20,000 runners representing 125 countries, with Saudi participants constituting a record 58%. The SFA aims to grow this number to 40,000 for the upcoming event.
Support from Key Sponsors
This collaborative effort has garnered significant backing from several key sponsors. Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB) will return as the presenting partner for the Riyadh Marathon, while ASICS and Tawuniya are confirmed as strategic partners for both the SFA Expo and the marathon. The involvement of these reputable organizations demonstrates a growing recognition of the importance of fitness initiatives within the Saudi community.
Leadership Perspectives
HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, President of SFA, noted the significance of this joint event in the organization’s mission. “The launch of the Saudi Sports for All Federation’s events, combining the SFA Expo and the 2025 Riyadh Marathon, represents a significant step forward in our mission to make physical activity a cornerstone of daily life in the Kingdom,” he stated. Ms. Shaima Saleh Al-Husseini, Managing Director of the SFA, expressed the initiative’s commitment to providing a dynamic and engaging experience for all attendees, whether elite athletes or those simply looking to improve their well-being.
Aligning with Saudi Vision 2030
This innovative initiative is also consistent with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to embed fitness within the fabric of Saudi Arabian society. The Riyadh Marathon’s classification as a ‘World Athletics Elite Label Road Race’ further highlights its importance on an international platform. Planning efforts are already underway to ensure both events offer an enriching experience, with additional details related to venues, marathon routes, and sponsorships expected to be released soon.
