The highly anticipated Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon (TTOM), known as one of the globe’s most picturesque running events, is officially scheduled for the weekend of 11-12 April 2026. This prestigious race draws participants from across the world to experience the breathtaking landscapes of Cape Town, making it a highlight on the global marathon calendar.
Challenges of the 2025 Event and New Organizing Partnership
The 2025 iteration of the marathon faced considerable challenges, including an overwhelming number of runners for the half-marathon route. This led to permit violations, a shortage of essential resources like medals, and inadequate water stations. To prevent such issues in the future, the organizers have enlisted the expertise of Stillwater Sports to manage the 2026 race. With a proven track record in organizing successful events such as XTERRA triathlons, the AfricanX trail running event, and the FNB Wine2Whales mountain bike race, Stillwater Sports is well-equipped to elevate the standards of the Two Oceans Marathon.
A Look Forward: Enhancements and Innovations
Chris Goldschmidt, Chairman of the Board of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC, expressed optimism about this new partnership. He stated, “The Two Oceans Marathon has a proud history, and this partnership marks a significant step forward in ensuring its future as a world-class event.” With the reliable backing of Stillwater Sports and the ongoing support of Totalsports, the 2026 race is expected to introduce innovative features that prioritize both excellence and inclusivity for participants.
